Known at the time as Canto do Zé Cruz Wine.

Produced from the grapes of the first vineyard planted in Herdade do Esporão in 1980, this wine expresses the unique characteristics of the Canto do Zé Cruz vineyard, of the Aragonez variety and the dedication of those who made it.

A cold and rainy winter, followed by a mild summer with wide variations in temperature, allowed the vines to mature well, resulting in balanced and intense wines.
Vineyard in integrated production mode, where the pruning system is Double Guyot, conducted in an upward vertical monoplane. The harvest is done by hand.
Soil Type: Granite soils derived from intrusive, greyish, and sandy loam rocks.
Average Vineyards Age: More than 34 years.
Aragonez
Harvested on September 30th, 2014. Fermented in marble lagares. Malolactic fermentation in cement tanks followed by 12 months aging in new French oak barrels.
Winemakers: David Baverstock and Sandra Alves
Color: Deep garnet.
Aroma: Notes of red berries, blackberry jam accompanied by nuances of tobacco leaf and coffee bean.
Palate: lntense and vibrant, with solid and present tannins and a persistent finish.
