This special editions highlights Touriga Nacional, Douro’semblematic grape variety. The grapes come from one of ouroldest partners, a family from São João da Pesqueira who know these slopes like the back of their hand. António and João, father and son, tend the vineyards with a rare dedication, the result of generations connected to the land. Assobio Touriga Nacional reflects the essence of the Douro, the world’s oldest demarcated wine region and a UNESCO World Heritage.

Another warm year, with mild and above-average winter temperatures, but with high rainfall. Spring was also warm, which caused the vine cycle to advance by approximately 10 days. As a result, in summer, with water reserves in the soil, ripening progressed well, and thevines were ready very quickly.

Age of Vines: About 20 years old
Touriga Nacional.
Manual harvest, sorting table, destemming, crushing, pre-fermentation cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation with controlled temperatures (max. 25ºC), pneumatic pressing.
Ageing
Aged for 6 months in used French oak barrels.
Winemakers: Lourenço Charters and José Luis Moreira da Silva.
Color: Ruby red color.
Aroma: Intense and vibrant aroma, dominated by red fruits and floral notes.
Palate: Shows good concentration, with soft, delicate tannins and a fresh, persistent finish.
