Pedro Lima

Brewer​

Pedro Lima was born and raised in Lisbon. It was also in the capital that he got his degree in biology from the University of Lisbon. Curiosity and a desire to learn more led him to the universities of Porto and Minho for a M.S. in Plant Molecular Physiology. For seven years he was a researcher at the Gulbenkian Institute of Science as a Gulbenkian doctoral fellow in Biomedical Sciences.​

Beer came into his life when he discovered the world of craft beer and tasted new American and European brews. The difficulty in finding them in the Portuguese market led him to try home brewing with friends, and Aroeira Beer and Duke Brewpub were born in Chiado, Lisbon. For the past seven years, he was the principal brewer at MUSA, being a key player in the launch and success of the Portuguese brand. In 2023 he accepted a new challenge and joined the Sovina family.
