Esporão Olive Oils have been recognized at two of the most important international olive oil competitions: BIOL Italy and New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC), with one Extra Gold and two Gold Medals.

It is with great pride that Esporão shares the results of the BIOL olive oil competition, Italy, where the best and most demanding olive oil producers in organic production in the world are present. Esporão Olival do Arrifes Extra Virgin Olive Oil was awarded with an Extra Gold Medal. At the NYIOOC, the most prestigious olive oil contest in the world, Esporão Olival do Arrifes Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Esporão Selecção Extra Virgin Olive Oil were awarded Gold medals.

The Olival do Arrifes Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced at Herdade do Esporão. It thrives in a balanced ecosystem with a wealth of biodiversity, planted on a hillside olive grove that occupies 80-hectares, with stony soils that makes trees more resilient. This terroir driven olive oil is both intense and complex. It displays aromas of freshly mowed grass, wildflowers, green banana peel and green almond. Palate is of medium intensity, complex, spicy and bitter, slightly astringent with a finish reminiscent of nuts and olive leaves.

Selecção Extra Virgin Olive Oil is Esporão’s signature edition. It is an elegant and complex olive oil, yet harmonious, with herbaceous and fruit notes produced from a selection of varieties and locations, which makes it the perfect choice for discerning connoisseurs. You can feel the herbaceous aromatic notes, freshly mowed grass, tomato stems and nuts. As for palate, the mouth fills with green notes and the harmony of bitter and spice.
